Fill the Tractor with Fresh Food for Food Banks

The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance (HDFFA), Superior Tractor, NeighborImpact and the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market are all teaming up to offer community members an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of hungry Central Oregonians. On the last day of the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market, in celebration of a bountiful season, HDFFA will be filling the bucket of a tractor with fresh, local produce to be donated to NeighborImpact and area food banks. Community members are encouraged to bring fresh produce from their home gardens or purchase extra fresh vegetables or fruits at the market in order to help fill and overflow the tractor with Central Oregon abundance.

Anyone who joins in the effort by making a fresh food donation of any size will be rewarded with a pass for free yoga at Sunny Yoga Kitchen. All food donors can also enter in a drawing to win a local food gift basket filled with delicious market goods. The drawing will take place at 1:30pm.

This summer HDFFA’s Grow and Give Program has collected over 4,000 pounds of fresh food from five regional farmers markets and donated the food to area food banks.  Let’s help the HDFFA reach their goal of 8.000 pounds of local food donations!
